All owls think a lot

晚上陪著小孩讀書的時候，看到了書架上 Martin Waddell 寫的 Owl Babies （小貓頭鷹們）這本書，因為從開學到現在，班上都還沒排到說故事義工，就拿這本書來說給班上的同學聽吧！行遠必自邇，想要學生寫出長篇大論，也許我該從念短篇故事給他們聽，作為一個開始！

因為是故事的主角是貓頭鷹，因此我上網找了一篇和貓頭鷹有關的短詩(標題是三隻小貓頭鷹），唸起來很有韻味的。一方面讓學生聽韻腳所形成的節奏和韻律，一方面也讓學生想像短詩所描繪的內容。

最後，當然希望學生聽完後都能成為小小貓頭鷹，因為書中寫的：All owls think a lot～ （所有的貓頭鷹都會考慮很多事情）

Three Little Owls

Three little owls in an old elm tree,
Fluffy and puffy as owls could be.
Blinking and winking
With bright round eyes,
At the big round moon that hung
in the skies.

As I passed beneath,
I could hear one say,
There’ll be nice things for supper,
There will, today!

Then all of them hooted,
To–whit, T–whoo!
Yes, nice things for supper,
Hoo–hoo, Hoo–hoo!
